Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to Vein, Inc., a Delaware corporation (“Vein”, “we”, “our”), and covers both our marketing site at vein.finance and the Vein application at app.vein.finance.

1. Information We Collect

Information you give us. When you join our waitlist or create an account, we collect your name, email address, role, and company details.

Financial data from sources you connect. The Vein application collects financial data only from accounts you explicitly connect and authorize. Those sources are your bank (through Plaid), Stripe, QuickBooks, and Gusto. We receive this data because you authorize the connection, and you can disconnect a source at any time from the application.

Usage data. We collect standard server and usage information, including IP address, browser type, and pages visited.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use this information to operate the service, to generate the reports and data rooms you create, to communicate with you about the product, to respond to your inquiries, and to keep the platform secure. We do not use your financial data for advertising, and we do not use it to build profiles for anyone other than you and the organizations you share it with.

3. How Your Data Is Shared

Your financial data is shared with an investor or other organization only when you explicitly approve that access. Approvals are scoped and can be revoked by you at any time.

We do not sell consumer data. We share data with the service providers listed in section 5, who process it on our behalf under contract, and we may disclose information where required by law.

4. Your Rights, Including Access, Export and Deletion

You may request access to your data, an export of your data, correction of inaccurate data, or deletion of your data by emailing team@vein.finance. These requests are handled by our team rather than through an in-product control. We acknowledge requests promptly and complete them within 30 days, or within 45 days where applicable law permits an extension and we tell you why more time is needed.

You can also opt out of marketing email using the unsubscribe link in any message we send.

5. Service Providers

We use the following providers to operate Vein. Each processes data on our behalf.

• Amazon Web Services, application hosting
• Supabase, database, authentication and file storage
• Vercel, website and application hosting
• Plaid, bank account connections
• Stripe, payment platform data
• Intuit, QuickBooks accounting data
• Gusto, payroll data
• OpenAI, AI processing of report content
• Resend, transactional email delivery

6. Data Retention

When a relationship between a startup and an investor ends, the startup keeps its own data and the investor’s access to it is revoked.

When an account is deleted, we purge its data from our production systems within 90 days. Copies held in encrypted backups age out within a further 30 days.

We may retain records for longer where the law requires it, for example to meet financial recordkeeping obligations.

7. Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies that are essential to keeping you signed in and moving between pages. Beyond those, our marketing site sets nothing at all, and the Vein application uses Vercel Analytics to understand how the product is used. Analytics loads only after you accept the banner shown on your first visit, and if you decline, only the essential cookies remain.

Our marketing site serves its typeface from our own servers. The application loads its typeface from Google Fonts, which means your IP address reaches Google when a page loads. We use no advertising trackers on either.

8. Data Security

Access to the platform requires authentication, and optional two factor authentication is available. Data is encrypted in transit, and encrypted at rest by our infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
